On day 3 I tried They’re Real. Today’s I get to try another Benefit mascara. This time, it’s Bad Gal Lash.
First thing this morning I applied They’re Real on the left and Bad Gal Lash on the right. It’s coming up to 10pm and They’re Real seems to be winning on the staying power front. Bad Gal Lash really needs to be reapplied.
However, I definitely prefer the overall look of Bad Gal Lash. It seems to have defined and separated my lashes a lot more than They’re Real and the brush is a heck of a lot better for curling.
Here are the two brushes, side by side:
As you can see, they’re very different. Bad Gal Lash has a fatter brush and the bristles are much closer together.
A friend of mine swears by They’re Real and I know that it’s extremely popular. It’s going to come down to personal taste. The main thing I need from a mascara is curl. One eye has nicely curled lashed naturally and the other just sticks out all stupid-like. I applied Bad Gal Lash to the sticky outy ones and they weren’t sticky outy anymore!
However, the lack of staying power lets it down and it doesn’t quite achieve the overall look I get from my favourite Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Black.
They’re Real got 5/10. Bad Gal Lash gets…
Amazability factor: 7/10 (very good but still not good enough to knock Bourjois off the top spot)
