Today’s treat literally builds upon yesterday’s. It’s Rimmel’s Scandaleyes mascara, full size and worth £6.99.
I have three firm favourite mascaras. I’ve already told you about Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Black which costs around £7.99 and has been my go-to mascara for years. Then there’s Benefit’s Roller Lash which is a fairly new addition, costing £19.50 and finally there’s Elizabeth Arden’s Beautiful Color Maximum Volume mascara, costing between £13.00 and £22.00 but available for a lot less at the moment, here.
Ultra Black is a great all rounder – fab colour, lift, length and volume. Roller Lash and Beautiful Color are both great for natural looking but longer, lifted lashes.
So Scandaleyes is cheaper than my top three. How does it measure up?
The colour is great – it’s a lovely solid black. The brush also seems to hit all the lashes and they’re lifted and lengthened. They look thicker too. I tried yesterday’s lash primer on one eye, but still didn’t see any particular improvement on that side.
The mascara however is pretty good. It does the job and my lashes look good. It hasn’t however done anything so impressive as to oust one of my firm favourites and for only £1 more I’ll continue using Ultra Black.
It deserves a 7/10 though – it’s pretty good.
